Stef Layton, mid 30′s Christian wife (to a traveling golf course architect), & mama to two amazing homeschool boys – living it all out in sunny Florida! I’m one of those “later to accept Jesus” statistics! I accepted Christ at the age of 26, so I like to write about my growing faith. I blog about: homeschooling, faith, weight loss / healthy habits, blogging 101′s, and easy home tips/encouragement for the every mom.

I want to encourage moms: parenting can be joyful and fulfilling when we embrace Jesus and let Him lead! I offer free downloads because I hope they give all types of families time together, fun, and opportunities to think! Homeschool Living isn’t necessarily what subjects you teach or where you school, but a love for learning all the time!

I pray for all moms to spend time cuddling and laughing, reading, learning and exploring this great world with their children! My goal is to share Christ with my boys, let The Lord lead us, and grow us closer as a family so we can shine His glory.

I really enjoyed this interview. I had never heard them before. They’ve been so involved in homeschool leadership, I’m surprised I haven’t. The Hero Tales from American History sound like they will be great. I haven’t heard of them, either. We are studying the Founding Fathers and first presidents and Revolutionary and Civil War kind of all at the same time since we moved to the East coast. We live in PA now, so we’ve visited Gettysburg. But my husband is working in S. Carolina, so we went to see Fort Sumter, too. I am always looking for interesting ways to study history. I have 4 boys and 6 girls. I’m trying to make history buffs of all of them! Penney

I really enjoyed Hal and Melanie’s talk tonight. I had missed it completely the first time, so I was actually thankful for your technical difficulties! :) The thought that they’re not “listening to a girl,” but actually listening to God (because of the headship delegation) was really helpful to me. With my two teenage boys, I have hesitated to be authoritative with them, and when they are home and my husband is not, this has been a real handicap! Ronda

This is such a great week. I really appreciated Jo Jo’s encouragement yesterday to begin planning for college early, and her thoughts about having your children involved long-term in activities related to their areas of interest. Cathy

I listened to the communication by JoJo and learned the importance of communication. I didn’t realize there where 7,000 ref in the bible to communication! We all need to improve on our communication skills as we use this with our children, at work, with spouses ect and not just in professional settings. Jenny

I appreciate Phyllis’ encouragement about asperger children. When we have children with disabilities, it can be a real struggle. It’s okay to can traditional curriculum and use what works for each child. Janie

My AHA moment was when you talked about teaching the kids to plan out their own week. I’ve been doing almost all the planning for my kids.
